Consrv is an app designed to educate, inspire, and empower users to take meaningful action toward sustainability. Through interactive challenges, educational content, and actionable tips, it helps users understand environmental issues and make eco-conscious choices in their daily lives.
My role
In this project, I served as the sole designer, responsible for creating the user experience and visual design for Consrv. I worked on simplifying complex environmental data, developing a gamified experience to engage users, and building a design system to ensure visual cohesion and usability. My role included iterating on earlier designs, incorporating feedback, and refining the app’s features to deliver a seamless and impactful platform that empowers users to take action for sustainability.
Mission
As part of this project, I volunteered with Catchafire, a program supported by Patagonia. In this role, I designed both digital and print materials to assist non-profits with their fundraising efforts and inspire others to support their causes. Through this experience, I helped create impactful marketing collateral and resources that empowered organizations to connect with their audiences and drive meaningful change.

From Concept to Creation
The idea for Consrv started in 2018 as a response to the growing need for environmental education and action. The initial design process was challenging, but it sparked a deep passion for tackling the climate crisis through technology.
By 2020, after honing my skills at Meemo and iterating on early designs, Consrv Version 1 was born. While the first version laid the groundwork, I knew there were areas for improvement. Drawing from my experience in building design systems, I returned to the drawing board for Version 2, focusing on streamlining user experience, enhancing visual cohesion, and refining the gamified elements to make the app more engaging and rewarding.
From Consrv to Today: How Purpose Shaped My Design Path
Consrv was one of the very first projects that introduced me to the world of UI/UX design back in university. At the time, I was simply exploring how design could be a tool to educate and inspire people toward sustainability. I didn’t fully realize then that this project would spark the beginning of my career in product design.
Working on Consrv taught me that design is not just about interfaces, but about shaping behavior, fostering awareness, and creating meaningful impact. The project aligned closely with my personal values around sustainability, and that connection gave me a sense of purpose in my work that I continue to carry forward today.
Looking back, Consrv became more than a school project—it was the foundation of my design philosophy. It instilled in me the belief that design is at its best when it balances user needs with a vision for a better future. This is why, as a designer now, I’m intentional about the companies and products I choose to work on. I gravitate toward teams and missions that align with the world I want to live in—one that is thoughtful, sustainable, and impactful.
